The tagline for “Kick-Ass” fits the film perfectly. It simply reads, “I can’t read your mind, but I can kick your ass.”
The film stars relative newcomer Aaron Johnson as Dave, an average, invisible high-schooler whose love for comic books is taken to the next level as he dons a green wetsuit and picks fights with petty criminals.
Dave soon finds himself in over his head after aligning himself with Damon Macready (A.K.A. Big Daddy), played by Nicolas Cage, and Macready’s 11-year-old daughter Mindy (A.K.A. Hit Girl) as they begin to exact their revenge against a wealthy crime boss.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse whom many will remember as McLovin from “Superbad” rounds out the cast as the crime boss’ comic-loving son.
