March 14, or National Pi Day, is on its way, and City College will celebrate with a Pi Day Contest.
Pi is the math symbol for the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter–3.14–though the number never ends. Students will compete to see who can memorize the most digits of Pi for prizes. The event is also open to those who simply want to watch the event on March 14, which represents the number pi in the 3/14 month/day format.
Students can sign up at the Research Help Desk on the second floor of the LRC if they wish to compete and show off their math memorization skills.
