City College’s Kondos Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of printmaking by prominent local and international artists.
The opening reception, curated by contributing artist and City College’s Art Department chair Emily Wilson, will run through Sept. 28. The opening reception on Sept. 13 coincided with the opening of the Performing Arts Center’s printmaking lab.
Artists’ demonstrations and lectures will take place on Sept. 21 and 28 at 1 p.m. in the PAC 131 across from the Kondos Art Gallery.
Personally selecting and obtaining valuable pieces for showcase from a variety of respected artists, City College art professors Michael Stevens and Suzanne Adan devised and organized the event.
Art student Carole Bodnar says that this exhibit and other presentation have the purpose of increasing the gallery’s visibility to encourage interest and appreciation in art from everyday people who ordinarily wouldn’t find themselves at an art gallery.
The viewing runs from noon to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and noon to 3 p.m. on Fridays.
