City College will host COVID-19 vaccination clinics Wednesday, Aug. 25, and Thursday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, according to recent emails sent out to students and employees.
The vaccination clinics will be held on City College’s main campus at the City Café, according to the Los Rios Community College District’s vaccine requirements webpage. Appointments are encouraged, but the clinics will also accept walk-ups.
Walgreens will provide the clinics as part of the federal vaccination rollout program, according to the webpage. Vaccinations are free and are available regardless of immigration status or insurance coverage.
The clinics follow the district’s announcement that first doses of the vaccine will be required by Oct. 1 for all employees and students who use district and college facilities, unless they receive an approved medical or religious exemption. Students may submit proof of vaccination by going to eServices and clicking on the “COVID-19 Vaccination Status” box on the home page.
The district is also offering incentives to students enrolled for the fall 2021 semester who provide proof of their first shot by Sept. 1, and proof of full vaccination by Nov. 1, according to the district’s webpage. Students will receive $100 for providing proof of receiving their first shot, and an additional $100 for providing proof of being fully vaccinated. All students are eligible for the incentives, including those who received their vaccinations prior to the vaccination requirement.
The district will host additional on-campus vaccination clinics in September, according to the email sent to students. The dates of those clinics have not yet been finalized.
