Student Leadership and Development hosted Vibes on the Quad and Harvest Festival Nov. 14. This event consisted of live music, food, games, arts and crafts and a free nail polish change by the cosmetology students.
The event gave students the opportunity to take a break from their hard studying and relax which was the main goal, according to Student Leadership and Development office assistant Michael Veirs
“This lets the students know we are thinking of them,” said Veirs. “We know it can get exhausting coming to campus every day so having something like this in the quad where we are able to have lawn games and food to let them know that we know it may be a rough semester but you’re almost done, relax.”
City College student Dupree Herrdon said that being a student can be difficult and expensive, so he really appreciates the free food.
“The best part of the event has been the free food because that can get pricey sometimes in the cafeteria,” said Herrdon. “I’m grateful. I feel like I’m really apart of the college community and I’ve had a lot of fun.”
Students enjoying themselves is what’s most important said Veirs.
“This event always gets more fun with each student who participates,” said Veirs. “We want them to tell their peers and family that Sac City is a great school who cares about their students”
The next event hosted by Student Leadership and development will be the De-Stress Fest, Dec. 2-Dec.5.
