The Los Rios Study Abroad Program is holding an information session Sept. 9 from noon-1:00 p.m. in LRC 105 about the upcoming trips to Florence in the spring of 2016 and London in the fall 2016.
To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years old, have at least 12 units of college credits completed the semester before they go and maintain at least a 2.25 grade point average. Financial aid and scholarships are being offered to help cut the cost for the estimated $5,000 trip.
The Los Rios Community College District is a part of the Northern California Study Abroad Consortium. Its goal is to promote teaching overseas so students and faculty can enjoy their overseas experience.
The American Institute For Foreign Study (AIFS) allows students to participate in cultural exchange programs. There are approximately 2,000 customized programs that are available through AIFS, in which faculty and students can participate.
The Consortium and AIFS work together to create programs that simplify teaching and studying abroad for faculty and students.
