City College’s Associated Student Government sent fliers through e-mail urging students to participate in a campus-wide walkout on Oct. 7 protesting the continued delay of financial aid support and the governor’s absence in community college funding.
ASG vice president Justin Turner said he witnessed the boiling point of frustrated students yet to receive financial aid funds firsthand. One incident involved students threatening financial aid staff and City College police were dispatched to keep the peace in Rodda North.
Both students and professors are encouraged to leave their classrooms at 11:30 a.m. and gather on the quad for ASG speakers and a DJ scheduled at noon.
