On Oct. 19, 2022 the Los Rios Board of Trustees voted to end the districtwide COVID-19 vaccination requirement for both students and employees according to a news update from Los Rios administration. Although the process of putting this decision into action has already begun, the current vaccine requirement is still in place.
The update stated, “the public health crisis surrounding COVID-19 is far from over, and Los Rios will continue to heed the relevant guidance from state and local public health experts relating to measures to mitigate the spread of infection.”
Kaitlyn Collignon, City College’s public information officer says, “We will also continue to strongly encourage that all students and employees get vaccinated and stay up to date with the most current booster regimens, and that they wear a mask when on campus.”
Collignon added, “… if guidance from public health experts changes or evolves, we will make any appropriate adjustments in order to protect our community and mitigate the spread of the virus.”
