For the first time since the campus shut down in mid-March, City College hosted an afternoon food giveaway. The socially distant event involved volunteers who placed boxes of food in recipients’ trunks or back seats. Dean of Campus Interventions Andre Coleman and his team collaborated with the Sacramento Food Bank to distribute 600 boxes to students who signed up for the distribution. Coleman hopes to do monthly food distribution in the future.
