City College parking garage to temporary close for lighting upgrade
The City College parking garage will be closed all day Oct. 12 and Oct.13 for scheduled maintenance. The garage will re-open for normal hours beginning Oct. 14.
Crews will be working to upgrade the overhead lights in the parking garage according to Kaitlyn MacGregor, City College’s public information officer.
“The lighting project is part of a campus-wide Prop. 39 lighting project,” said MacGregor in an email. “Other lighting upgrades have also been made or will be made to other buildings, including North and South Gym and the Childcare Center.”
California Clean Energy Jobs Act, proposition 39, supports energy efficiency upgrades to California public schools with up to $500 million a year in funding. It prioritizes relatively simple upgrades to lighting, compared to more complex upgrades on California public school campus’ according to the California Lighting Technology Center at University of California Davis
The north parking lot will be unaffected by the maintenance and will continue be open.
