The Los Rios Community College District and its four colleges – American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City – will hold student elections April 12—13, according to the City College website.
Students are encouraged to learn more, run for a position, attend candidate forums and vote. Candidate petitions are due March 15. Students who are open to learning and working with others are qualified to join the student association.
Student government is the official organization that represents students on campus. The governing board consists of the Clubs and Events Board and the Student Senate. Leaders from each board are committed to advocating for students’ rights, improving the campus culture and developing transferable leadership skills. Specifically, the Clubs and Events Board functions to promote student involvement and activities, while the Student Senate functions to advocate for the common interests of students.
Only currently enrolled Los Rios students may vote on both days from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
