What you may not know is that Russell Solomon, the founder and Sacramento native behind the old now-defunct music giant, has had an affinity for photography for a long time. On Sept. 10, in honor of his 90th birthday, the Kondos Gallery and the new Photo/Journalism Gallery on the second floor of the Student Services building will display two of the City College alum’s photography exhibits.
The “Legends of Sacramento” gallery exhibit, featuring portraits of nine prominent Sacramentans, such as internationally acclaimed artist Wayne Thiebaud and grocer/wine expert Darrell Corti, will be on display from Sept. 10 through Oct. 30 in the Photo/Journalism Gallery.
The “Community” gallery exhibit, featuring portraits of active members of the Sacramento community, will run until Oct. 9 in the Kondos Gallery in the Fishbacher Fine Art Building.
