The Panthers came from behind to win Thursday as third baseman Jerrod Bravo drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Panthers a walk-off victory over Butte College 6-5.
The Panthers struck early, scoring three runs in the third inning off a homerun from center fielder Jared James and a two RBI double from cleanup hitter Robbie Link.
Starting pitcher Nate Berumen threw seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings before he faltered in the fifth. In the top of the fifth a Roadrunners rally got them four runs to take the lead at 4-3.
Berumen had trouble locating his pitches from the stretch during the fifth, walking in a run and often finding himself behind in the count.
Right hander Dom Campodonico was brought in from the bullpen in relief of Berumen with one out in the fifth. Campodonico struck out Butte’s three hitter, David Clark, to end the inning. Campodonico would throw three scoreless innings before being pulled in the eighth.
Campodonico would, however, be credited with an earned run as Butte’s Drake Richie, who singled off Campodonico, scored on a bases loaded walk by right-handed pitcher Taylor Shores who came on in relief later in the inning.

Down 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Panthers head coach Derek Sullivan sent Adam Grindheim in as a pinch hitter to lead off. Grindheim hit a chopper up the middle, beating it out for an infield single.

James would reach on an error at shortstop, loading the bases for Panthers second baseman Jorge Perez. Perez singled on the first pitch, scoring Grindheim from third and tying the game at 4-4.
With no outs and the bases loaded, third baseman Bravo, who came in to the game batting .292 on the season, stepped in to the batters-box. After working the count full at 3-2 Bravo hit a ground ball, losing grip of his bat in the process, to score Bracero from third and win the game in walk-off fashion 6-5.
