Ellie Appleby, Assistant Photo Editor
Ellie Appleby is a photo editor for the Express. This is her fourth semester writing and photographing for the Express.
Ellie grew up around photography in upstate New York. Both her father and grandfather were photographers themselves. Her first experience taking a photo was in a vegetable garden taking a portrait of them arm-in-arm together. Her passion continued to grow from there and she has since gone on to photograph for many different establishments, win awards, exhibit her work in a gallery and even volunteer on a video production team.
Ellie has chosen to attend City College to add a journalism degree to her photography degree received from the Academy of Art University. Now she is interested in developing her writing skills. She looks forward to sharing her interests in current events and humanitarian issues through both photography and journalism while on the Express. In this venture, she hopes to refine her skills and lead into a future photojournalism career.
