The Veterans Resource Center hosted an appreciation barbecue during their Veterans Day awareness resource fair at City College on Nov. 13, 2023.
Julie Coleman, who is a City College student and a veteran with a disability and volunteers her time at the Veteran Resource Center, expressed her enjoyment of the catered lunch during the event. Colman said that the Veterans Resources Center has been a “God sent for our vets, because they can come together with brotherly and sisterly love and be a support system for one another.”
Jake Hughins (not pictured) a specialist for the Veterans Resource Center for 15 years, said that this has been their first appreciation barbecue since COVID-19 had started, and they had a good turnout of veteran service groups for the event.
