As summer’s sunny allure draws ever-closer, City College’s Student Leadership and Development prepares to fill the Quad with entertainment and food on May 3 during the day-long celebration known as People’s Day.
“We’re looking for a festive environment for [the City College] campus,” said Student Leadership and Development’s student affairs specialist Chris Torres. “[People’s Day] gives students and staff a good opportunity to mingle with each other while serving the campus.”
This year’s long-time celebrated People’s Day will begin with a free, volunteer-served pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day with booths showcasing City College clubs, arts and crafts, vendors and department information.
Recognition of student works and accolades will be included in celebration of another semester’s end. Also included in the festivities will be students and faculty taking the stage in a variety of musical performances and talent showcases.

“We hope to see everyone out on the campus,” said Torres. “It’s going to be a great day; we’re going to try to serve everyone there.”
