“Quise”–whose birth name is Marquise Scott –was called in by Trakmatik production, a music production and engineering company located in Sacramento. Founder De’andre Collins solicited Scott’s help to produce a song said to soon be sent to various major label recording artists.
“He’s one of my favorite piano players I work with,” says Collins, also known as Trakmatik. “At times he can hear a track and be able to add so much that he kind of re-invents the music.”

“This guy can pretty much make any type of music,” says Kyle Wilcoxen, a vocalist. “Man, I love singing while he plays. He is truly anointed.”
Scott says he’s been playing since he was about 15.
“The moment I really got serious about it was when my pastor at the time made me play during service,” Scott says. “I was so nervous that I even forgot the songs I knew.”
It seems that Scott has not left his church roots. Every Sunday he continues to play at his church located in the Oak Park neighborhood.

“I can’t leave the place that taught me how to play,” Scott says. “I’ll always be at some church playing for God. I don’t play on a lot of tracks anymore. I kind of shifted my focus from secular music to gospel music.”
Scott is a devoted Christian and believes in the principles of the Bible, but also helps out Trakmatik, his cousin, from time to time.
“I don’t think that pop and R&B music are bad,” Scott says. “I like to see people enjoy my music whether it be gospel, pop or any other genre.”
Growing up, Scott remembers that music was always a passion. He began playing the drums at 5 years old, the guitar at 12 years old, and finally found his true calling on the keyboard. While many are trying to find the meaning to life and the keys to success, Scott says he finds relief from life’s realities through the keys of the piano.
“I really and truly love to play,” Scott says. “It allows me the freedom to be who or whatever I want to be. Each sound has its own personality. Some are fun, others are dark, and others just give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside, like love I guess.”
So why exactly did Scott choose to play the piano?
“Because I can’t sing,” Scott says. “I didn’t want to be in the choir, so why not try something else?”
Scott leads a pretty demanding lifestyle.
“School, work, church, rehearsal, the studio and I‘ll do it all over again tomorrow,” Scott says witsh a smile.
