According to a survey performed by RJMetrics, approximately one in 10 feeds from participants on the video networking site Chatroulette.com were either exhibiting themselves in the nude or “appeared to be committing a lewd act.” One in eight “spins”, or the selection of the next random partner in the chat queue, yields something R-rated or worse.
“Just know who you are talking to [and think to yourself] who is going to see these,” Blomberg said. “People don’t know that their text messages can be forwarded. Things you put out there on Facebook can be seen by the entire world. So what do you want the world to know about you? Do you want everybody to see your boobs?”
Some students expressed concern over the way in which some are expressing themselves.
“The Internet is exposed to a lot of young people,” said music major David Smith. “So I think they should be cautious.”
