City College student Kathy Carlisle died Dec. 8 after being hit by a train while taking photographs in Sacramento. The Express asked City College President Kathryn Jeffery for an official statement regarding this tragic loss. The statement can be read below.
“We are deeply saddened to learn about the accident that resulted in the death of Kathryn Carlisle. The students and faculty who knew her and worked with her in photography courses at SCC were shocked to hear of this tragedy. ‘Kathy’s’ talent as a photographer made her an incredible resource and role model to others. The Sacramento City College family extends heartfelt condolences to the Carlisle family.”
