The City College International Studies Program and LGBT Friendly Campus will be hosting a discussion and Q&A event March 27 on sexual rights in the Middle East and North Africa at noon in the Cultural Awareness Center.
Guest speaker Zeina Zaatari will be giving a presentation with guest speakers Happy Hyder and Lara Kiswani in a staged reading of “Bareed Mista3jil”.
“Bareed Mista3jil” is a book composed of 41 true and personal stories by lesbians, bisexuals, queers and questioning women and transgendered from Lebanon.
Zaatari is currently the regional director of the Middle East North Africa Program at the Global Fund for Women. Outside of working as regional director, Zaatari also works with many organizations on projects of importance to the community.

Kiswani organized Sunbula: Arab Feminist for Change and the Free Palestine Alliance. She has also previously worked with the Arab Film Festival and the Arab Resource Organizing Collective.
