Current Student Senate President Marianna Sousa is running for the position of Los Rios Student Trustee, according to Student Senate Secretary of Public Relations Melisa Lasell.
The Los Rios Community College District states that any elected Student Trustee will maintain the position for a full year.
If elected, Sousa would replace American River College’s Cameron Weaver.
The Student Trustee represents all students in the Los Rios community college district. Though he or she does not vote on legislation pertaining to the colleges, the Student Trustee attends Board meetings with the seven other trustees.
