Robert Jay Harris II is a staff writer for the Express. This is his third semester writing for college news websites, but his second semester writing for the Express. Robert enjoys covering sports, feature stories or anything news-related. Ultimately, he loves writing and hearing what other people have to say.

Robert is a storyteller, video gamer and advocate for coffee people, and his favorite place to go is Starbucks. Robert loves writing books and play scripts of his own. Robert gets his inspiration and passion for writing by creating the characters in his scripts, and is a huge fan of Dick Wolfe and Tyler Perry. His favorite genres are crime, mystery and fiction. 

Robert enjoys writing ten-chapter books, and has written a total of four so far, three books and one play script. Robert is thinking about publishing his works, but he mostly does it for his passion and love for writing, storytelling and creation.

Robert recently completed his associate’s degree in journalism at City College in the fall 2023 semester and has returned back to the Express staff to gain more experience working as a journalist. Robert is currently majoring in communications and hopes to pursue a certificate of achievement in communications by completing City College’s program in applied communication skills.
