City College Panthers baseball team kept the game close against the Cosumnes River College Hawks on March 10, but were unable to overcome the CRC offense, losing by a final score of 4-2.

Next up to the plate was Panthers second baseman Nick Blaser. His base hit brought Madrigal around the bases to tie the score at 1-1.
By the top of the fourth inning the Hawks scored again. The Panthers had the bases loaded and walked the Hawks batter, bringing the score to 3-1. The bottom of the fourth saw Panthers first baseman Patrick Armstrong bunt his way to first base before taking second base on a throwing error. However, CRC was able to maintain the lead in bottom of the eighth inning when they scored to make the game 4-2 in favor of the Hawks.

Panthers infielder Kyle Harlow expressed that the team didn’t play its best ball to counter act the walks that put Hawks players on base. The coach made no comment.
The Panthers next home game is at against Santa Rosa Junior College on March 22.
