At the San Mateo Invitational meet on March 12, Antoine received first place in his heat with a time of 12.56 seconds in the 100-meter dash, but received 22 place overall. At the same meet and event La Ronn earned 17 place with 12.34 seconds.
The brothers have been competing together ever since they were young. They later went to separate high schools, but it did not affect how they competed together. Because of this bond, they say they have always had to work each other hard and gain the necessary skill to achieve perfection in running.
“When it came to sports we competed and made each other work harder and get better at what we do,” La Ronn says.
The Coleman brothers have the perfect buddy system. Not only do they have a person in common to compete with, but a good person to compete against. Every sibling knows about the constant competition between one another.

According to head men’s track and field coach Rob Dewar, the brothers compete with each other in a very good way. He feels that there are no rivalries between the brothers.

“They do what they say and they say what they do,” Dewar says.
Growing up together as twins was a very good experience for them, the brothers say. Not only did they get the chance to play tricks on teachers in middle school but also they got the chance to have someone who they could relate to since day one.

The brothers say they are both excited for the upcoming season and, the big tournaments.
During the California Relays in Cerritos, Calif., March 19-20, LaRonn placed second in his heat and 17 overall out of 42 places in the 100-meter dash. Antoine placed third in his heat and placed 33 overall in the same category.
The brothers have plenty of season left. So it’s plenty of time to improve.
“We expect to continue improving and to hopefully become the best we can be,” Antoine says. “We like what we do and plan to enjoy it as long as we can.”
