During the final month of the fall 2012 semester, City College will provide its students with the opportunity to participate in workshops for college success.
On the first floor of City College’s Learning Resource Center, the Learning Skills and Tutoring Center will host several academic integrity workshops “intended to support the academic work students do, with topics that affect how well they do,” according to LRC learning skills and tutoring center coordinator Kakwasi Somadhi.
“[The workshop program] is about having a code of ethics as students decide what they will and won’t do to withhold academic honesty,” said Somadhi.
Students are invited to attend any of the remaining workshops taking place over the next two weeks.
On Dec. 5, two workshops will be held, including Math Skills: Fractions (Multiplying and Dividing) from 10–11 a.m. and Academic Integrity from 4–5 p.m.

“Academic integrity is starting to be seen as part of the fabric of college and people are to use it more,” said Somadhi.
Somadhi hopes the workshops will enrich students’ lives.
“These topics are designed to help students be in control of their learning and make considered decisions with their education,” said Somadhi.
