This spring has been a whirlwind of new faces and plays at City College. A yellow dress, a sinister sidekick and a bunny butler, City College has had its share of decent plays this spring semester. People can only be curious of what’s in store for the college theater community. Let’s start with a rundown of my favorite moments from the stage.
Although the play “A Flea in Her Ear” is three hours long, director Kim McCann Lawson, did an interesting job of directing a cast of mostly professional actors with great comedic timing and stage presence.
“Beauty and the Beast” is an upbeat children’s show that keeps the kiddos engaged and the parents happy. Some of the kids needed a little more rehearsal, but Doug Lawson did an impressive job of directing beginning actors which shows through their comedic timing.
Moving onto movies, “Avatar” was a slam dunk, 3-D joyride. “Avatar” keeps the audience on its toes. I can’t wait for “Avatar 2” to see what is in store for the endangered planet. Bring it on, mastermind James Cameron.
Incapability or impotency both terms are related generic levitra online to same problem of inability on bed. The “Twilight Saga” deserves mention, too. Now, whether you want to admit it or not, you’ve seen it and whether you loved it or hated it, you know you are craving more of that juicy, vampire, hopelessly romantic soap opera action drama.
But let’s take a minute to look at what’s ahead on the City Theatre scene. “Berlin to Broadway” opens on April 23. This Kurt Weill Cabaret will be held in the Art Court Theatre at City College and should be a fun play for the whole family to see with his boisterous show tunes and dance moves.
Last, but not least to welcome summer is “Shakespeare in the Park”. City Theatre is known for the impressive talent they cast for these famous shows, and the atmosphere is almost near perfection. Summer nights are a perfect excuse to go under the trees at dusk in William Land Park to go watch some Shakespeare tales.
Go catch up on Shakespeare, show tunes and welcome the remaining shows City Theatre will be presenting this school year.
