The Cultural Awareness Center will host a free performance of “Ugly” during Black History Month for two shows Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 in the Performing Arts Center.
“Ugly” stars Gigi Bolden as Debra Fuller, a popular African-American author who risks her savings to try to self-publish her new novel. Meanwhile, her private life is full of complications. Audiences will see the impact that family, romance, race and power has on her relationships while she tries to achieve success.
The play was written by Kenneth B. Davis of Los Angeles and is directed by Kimberly Bailey.
