Covered California representatives will be on campus until March 31 to answer general Affordable Healthcare Act questions and assist even more students than expected in signing up for healthcare.
According to Program Manager Cathy Schulze for Covered California—the state’s insurance exchange version of Obamacare—an expanded medical plan took effect in January that has increased the number of full-time students who qualify for Medical and who may get free healthcare.
“Were finding that a slight majority of the people we’re seeing are more Medical-eligible than Covered California eligible,” Schulze said and encourages students not to hesitate in stopping by an information table.
To help explain what has been a frustrating experience for many, assistants will be ready to help Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. in either City Cafe or Rodda Hall North through March 31.
