The International Studies LC Program & Cultural Awareness Center will be hosting authors Laila El-Haddad and Maggie Schmitt of “The Gaza Kitchen”, a cookbook that features Palestinian culinary delights such as Rumaniyya, dagga, and ujjit Zahra, ON OCT. 31.
El-Haddad, a Pal and Schmitt are currently on a book tour of California and will be stopping by City College in the Cultural Awareness Center from noon-1 p.m. in Rodda Hall North 258. El-Haddad is a blogger and author of “Gaza Mom” and Schmitt is a researcher; both work as journalists and media activists.
El-Haddad and Schmitt are making Palestinian culture available to the West through the one thing that brings everyone together, their stomachs. Samples of the recipes from their book will be offered.
