Each November, groups of men from all over the country participate in what is known as Movember, a campaign in which men grow mustaches for the month. Each team then instructs people to go to its link online to leave donations to raise awareness and funding for men’s health.
Graphic communication professor Don Button is the captain of the team at City College. This team contains five faculty members and two students.
“This awareness is for men to support other men who have prostate or testicular cancer, or just bad health in general,” says Button.
The City College team is called Sac City ’Staches. Although Movember is a worldwide campaign, Button thought it would be clever to introduce this awareness campaign to the college, which he says will hopefully lead to involvement from the community.
