Voting for Measure A, the Los Rios Universal Transit Pass ballot initiative, began today on student’s personal eServices accounts.
Measure A will increase the fee students pay their UTP to $2.10. Voting “yes” on the ballot will make students pay a maximum of $31.50 per semester based on the number of units taken. The new agreement will begin spring 201 and continue until December 2021.
Voting “no” means that the current LRCCD program will expire November 2016, leaving students to pay normal bus and light rail fares.
Despite the rise in cost, the fee is still less than the $100 per month, or $500 per semester, fee normally charged to riders of the Sacramento Regional Transit District buses and light rails.
Voting is open today and tomorrow (Sept. 22-23) from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
