New SCC-Sac State partnership to help students transfer

New SCC-Sac State partnership to help students transfer

City College has announced a partnership with Sacramento State University allowing students to complete joint requirements, which will include an associate’s degree for transfer, and then be automatically admitted to Sac State, according to Interim City College President Michael Poindexter.

“Thanks to an impromptu meeting on the steps of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., and a planning meeting on Feb. 29,” said Poindexter in an email to the campus, “Sacramento City College and CSUS are launching a joint admissions program for students who were ineligible to be admitted into fall 2016 classes at CSUS.”

Poindexter says City College’s Instruction and Student Services are working closely together to finalize the logistics of the City to State success program. ADT student completion requirements, as stated in SB1440 law, include completion of a minimum of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University program through a path of specially designated courses in the student’s major.
