City College celebrates annual People’s Day

People’s Day, City College’s annual event celebrating students, staff and faculty, was held May 5 in the Quad.

The yearly celebration includes different vendors selling food and other goods. Also  booths from different clubs, associations and campus services were present.

One vendor this year was included Lina Preston of Northern Lights Vedic, which sells stones and jewelry. Preston says she liked the relaxed nature of City College.

“It’s nice to be in an area where you can just take turns and go to the library once in a while,” said Preston. “We also do street shows, and there it’s not possible always because it’s so busy with people and it’s just more relaxed [at City College].”

While it started raining during the event, many still participated in the festivities.

“I like how, despite the rainy day, everybody still seems to be having a good time together,” said City College student Joseph Jacobs, Jr.
