I have to admit, my hopes were not high for this movie, at all. The first “Fast And The Furious” was probably my favorite movie in high school, back when I didn’t know what a really good movie looked like. I watched it again for the first time today in years and was wow, this dialogue is horrible and overly cheesy. Needless to say I went into the premiere tonight with very low expectations.

Tonight I was reminded why I loved “The Fast And The Furious”, can we please just forget about “2 Fast 2 Furious” and just call the third one “Tokyo Drift.” Only the first and fourth one are worthy of the title in my opinion, I liked the third one a lot, but let’s just call it “Tokyo Drift.”

There were a couple of scenes that were completely ridiculous like in the beginning when Dominic Torreto, who is played by Vin Diesel drives underneath a flipping gas tanker that is exploding, which is complete crap, but o well. The movie redeemed itself from there on out. Good action, ridiculous driving, and the original characters. This one was bigger than the first with action, dialogue, and plot.

I can’t say too much of the plot without giving too much away, but basically Brian O’Conner, who is played by Paul Walker, is reinstated as a detective and trying to bring down a drug lord named Braga. Vin Diesel’s character is also tracking down the same drug lord for other reasons which I won’t say.

This is the first time Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto have seen each other since Brian let Dominic escape in the first movie.

A lot of stuff in this movie is reminiscent of the first. There’s alot of playful comments based on stuff said in the first movie, like owing a 10 second car. There’s one street race scene which will remind you of the first street race in the original one. Dominic’s beautiful 1969 charger was used again, Dominic’s sister Mia played by Jordana Brewster returns along with Letty played by Michelle Rodriguez, I was wondering why they didn’t bring Ja Rule and his horrible acting back though for a cameo, it would have been funny to see him in a street race.

If you want to see a good action movie with fast cars, hot girls, and for once a good plot, you should definitely see the new “Fast and The Furious.” On a 5 star scale I would give this one a 4, which is really good considering I usually hate mainstream franchise blockbusters.
