The City College Panthers faced the Napa Valley Storm on Thursday, Nov. 10 for their second game of the season.
Napa Valley stormed back early in the second half to cut the Panther’s lead down to four. The Panther’s then popped right back and took over as their intense defense controlled the rest of the game.
Panther’s leading scorer, guard Andrew Ferrara-Jones (#20), had 20 points, four rebounds, three steals, one block, and shot 6-10 from the field. The Panther’s also had four other players in double figures, guard Samir Khan (#5) had 15 points, forward Khyri Marshall (#23) and forward Leo Wagner (#42) both dropped 10 points, and forward Dajon Lott (#22) scored 19 points, shooting 80% from the field and coming off the bench.
City College shot 34-63 (54%) from the field all game compared to Napa Valley’s 26-64 (40.6%). The Panthers outrebounded the storm 32-28 and almost doubled the assists of 19-10. Although, Napa Valley did have more steals (11-8), as well as a better three-point and free throw percentage.
