Russ Solomon Gallery at Sacramento City College has two new exhibits for viewing, featuring the work of local photographers, including students.
“Beyond the Stadium – Sacramento Masters Runners” by student Bob Fredenburg contains portrait shots of runners in their 50s and 60s, who are still running competitively today. Fredenburg said he utilized film and darkroom editing because he enjoys the slower pace and just being able to think about the photo.
The second exhibit, “Wings and Roots,” showcases work from the Renaissance Society’s Photography Special Interest Group, Digital Photography: A Creative Journey. The Reinaissance Society is an organization in partnership with Sacramento State University that provides lessons and engagement for older adults. The exhibit has a mix of both cell phone and DSLR cameras to capture balance between personal origins, experiences, and aspirations that shape growth and transformation.
Both of these exhibits run through March 14 in the Russ Solomon Gallery, located in the second story of the Student Services Building at Sacramento City College.
