“We are in the middle of the tough part of the conference schedule,” Maglione said. “This team in comparison to other softball teams has been doing well.”

“For me, it isn’t hard going to school and playing ball. I came from a really prestigious high school, so I was used to doing my schoolwork and keeping up with sports,” said Fong.
Depending on how the rest of the season goes, the two-year City College softball player anticipates a transfer to a four-year college, with the hopes of receiving a softball scholarship to pursue her career in the sport.
Being a softball player is much more than just standing on a mound, pitching balls to people; it requires the drive to win and participation, Fong said.
“You need a lot of heart for the game in order to be here, and I think just being out on the field is a different feeling than anything else.”
