‘The September Issue’

Fashion is a religion and ‘Vogue’ its holy book

For those who reside in the world of fashion, fashion itself is considered a religion, “Vogue” is the bible and Anna Wintour is the pope.

“The September Issue” is a documentary that takes the audience into the fast-paced world of fashion journalism.

The film takes the viewer through the production of the September 2007 issue of Vogue, which shattered a fashion-magazine record: The “Fashion Bible,” as the issue was known, was a record 5 pounds with 840 pages of “fearless fashion” — 100 pages more than the issue preceding it.

The employees are surrounded by the fabulous, like thigh-high, black-patent leather Christian Louboutin boots, and not so fabulous things, like knee-length, hot pink, faux fur vests and Wintour’s chilling-hot temper.

Wintour is treated more like the Queen of Fashion than editor in chief. Designers know the success of their clothing lines and careers have a lot to do with her opinion. If Wintour doesn’t like a piece from a collection, the designer will scramble make the necessary changes to make sure they have approval.

This was demonstrated with designers Oscar de la Renta, Isaac Saint Yves and Vera Wang hurriedly making modifications to their designs.

Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is a unique tree with no close viagra price in india living relatives. We all know that erectile cialis without prescription http://greyandgrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Kaplan.pdf dysfunction is defined as inability to gain or maintain erection needed to meetman’s and his partner’s sexual needs in the bed. As a matter of fact, Kamagra online is quite often sold as a lower cost alternative to the popular sildenafil 100mg viagra medicine. The editors of “Vogue” aren’t just fashion enthusiasts—fashion is their life. Many fashion magazines model themselves around “Vogue”.

For instance Wintour was the first editor to put a celebrity on the cover of a magazine in the ’90s. In 1974, Beverly Johnson was the first African American woman to be put on “Vogue”, which caused controversy, but Wintour kept on.

Many don’t think fashion is something people should devote so much of their time following but they often underestimate the power it has on the society we live in.

The documentary highlights the fact that Wintour and “Vogue” have a pervasive influence in people’s wardrobes and closets.

A stylist in “The September Issue” said, “Nobody was wearing fur until Anna put it on the cover in the ’90s.”

Creative director and former model Grace Coddington believes Wintour is a genius, always thinking ahead to determine upcoming trends and putting them in the magazine before other publications do.

Fashion lovers will love this film because it’s every fashion lover’s dream come true. The grand majority of “Vogue” fanatics will never be able to walk into the offices of the legendary magazine, but the film has become the fairy godmother and has given those people the opportunity to see and witness the events of magazine planning and production unfold.

For the not-so-fashion-forward individuals, this film may be a bit of a bore if fashion isn’t something one is interested in. But then again the film can be like Cupid and make a person spin in the opposite direction and fall enamored with fashion.
