The tipoff started the City College women’s basketball game against Diablo Valley’s Vikings Feb.15, but the Panthers still triumphed over the Vikings, 55-40, winning them a hopeful play-in at the playoffs.

“We’re hoping to make the play-in,” women’s basketball head coach David Carmichael said. “The lost to Cosumnes two weeks ago really hurt us.”

The final home game started with the Panthers gaining advantage with the tipoff, scoring the first three points. About 20 minutes in, the Panthers were tied up with the Vikings, making the rest of the game a mystery to be solved. By the end of the first half, the Panthers lead an 11-point lead against the Vikings, 30-19.
