A long time coming

The State Senate officially passed the 2011 to 2012 budget Oct. 8, ending a long-time impasse that Kevin Yamamura of The Sacramento Bee described as, “the longest budget dispute in state history.”

Los Rios District Vice Chancellor of Communications and Research Susie Williams said that it is still too early to really say what the budget means for the district, or more specifically, City College.

“The governor left for a trip to Russia without signing the trailer bill that contains most of the language for community colleges. So technically, we still don’t have a signed budget,” Williams said.
