City College students will prepare for a rally hosted by Women Organized to Resist and Defend in Southside Park on March 8.

According to W.O.R.D Sacramento’s Community Outreach Chair, Autumn Thomas-Morales, the group intends to conduct a 4 p.m. rally at the park on 6th and U St. followed by marching to the Capitol to hold a closing rally, demanding legislative action.

“We hope to put pressure on California politicians to stop cutting social programs women and families use,” said Thomas-Morales, “as well as demand politicians from California who work at the Federal level to listen to their constituents and respect women and the family.”
