It was down to the wire in the closing games of the season for the City College baseball team. The Panthers finished the regular season March 8 with a record of 22-16 and a Big 8 Conference record of 10-11.

In the final game of the season played April 29 at Union Stadium, the Panthers lost to conference rival Santa Rosa. The loss was the third in three games against Santa Rosa during the season. However, both teams qualified for a play-in game.
