Let’s go big 8! Swim team prepares for finals

If practice makes perfect, City College swim team is well on its way to success.

One of the biggest events of its season, the Big 8 Conferences in San Joaquin, is just around the corner. The Conferences consist of trials in the morning, afternoon, and a final in the evening.

According to the team’s head coach Steve Hanson, this season has been going well, and the swimmers are getting faster as the team progresses.

“I enjoy training athletes. I’ve been coaching for about 13 years now,” said Hanson.

“They expect us to be the best of the best, and we will go out there and give it our all,” Forbes said. Hanson said he encourages the members to have their best swims of the season and career, as well as to be excited about it swimming.

“I want the Big 8 to serve as a springboard to get them coming back next year,” Hanson said.
