May and June Transfer Center events

The City College Transfer Center has several upcoming workshops and events in May and June for transfer students, including students transferring for the fall 2021 semester, according to a recent newsletter. 

The “Destined to Transfer” Workshop offered through the Davis Achievement Program will run Thursday, May 6, from 1-2 p.m. The newsletter said that the workshop will teach students “the various opportunities to guarantee [their] admissions.” Students must register to attend the Zoom workshop.

Also on Thursday, May 6, the Transfer Center will host a “What’s Next” Fall 2021 UC Admitted Students Workshop, according to a recent City College Transfer Center email. The workshop will run from noon-2 p.m. Students must register for the Zoom workshop, as well as have a UC TAP account

The newsletter also mentioned that the Transfer Center will host a virtual Transfer 101 Drop-in Hour Friday, May 7, and Thursday, May 20, from 2-3 p.m. Students can ask any questions they have about transferring to CSU, UC, private or out-of-state universities. Participants must RSVP to attend.

The newsletter announced that the Transfer Center will host the district-wide 2021 Los Rios Colleges Transfer Celebration Wednesday, May 12, from 4-6 p.m. The event will celebrate students transferring to a CSU, UC, private university or an out-of-state university and is open to students transferring in the spring 2021 or fall 2021 semesters. The virtual celebration will include entertainment, a keynote speaker and recognition of students’ accomplishments. Students must register for the event by Friday, May 7.

According to the newsletter, throughout May and June, representatives from CSU, UC and other universities, including UC Davis, UC Riverside, Sacramento State, Humboldt State, Sonoma State and the University of the Pacific will make virtual visits. Students must make an appointment through the Transfer Center to attend.

For students who are close to transferring and would like advice or assistance, they may fill out a Transfer Support Survey to receive specialized help from the Transfer Center.

For other transfer questions, students may schedule virtual one-on-one appointments with a Transfer Center specialist by emailing [email protected] or by calling 916-558-2181. The Transfer Center’s hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30–5 p.m.
