The first thing one realizes when arriving at Yosemite for the first time is that the magnitude of the mountains is far beyond what a picture could convey. They stand at a monolithic size in comparison to even the tallest buildings encountered. Yosemite Falls itself is 2,420 feet tall, twice the height of the Empire State Building. The Yosemite scene is quiet and still. With herds of deer roaming as they graze throughout the park and bobcat surveying the land for rodents to consume. There is a general flow of life in the park that everyone can see. Travelers from as far away as Austria and Japan flood the park, giving an opportunity to get to know people from all across the globe.
