Women’s volleyball coach snags 300th victory

City College’s volleyball coach Laurie Nash recently notched her 300th victory Sept. 7 against Shasta College, giving the Panthers a record of 6-0 at the time, and currently 9-0. Nash hopes to continue the winning trend.

Nash has been coaching at City College for 22 years, and 16 — she’s entering her 17th year this fall — have been as the volleyball coach.

In the first CCCWVCA State rankings for the state women’s volleyball top 25, behind Nash, City College is ranked No. 8 in the state and No. 3 in NorCal. Nash’s overall record is 302-131 and the Panthers next game is at Folsom Lake College, Friday, Sept. 16, with their next home game coming Wednesday, Sept. 21, against American River College.
