University of the Pacific to visit City College Oct. 24

City College’s Transfer Center will present a visit from the University of Pacific Oct. 24, for a workshop to help any students that might be interested in transferring to a university.

Representatives from UOP will speak to students from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and give them a better idea of what their campus offers. UOP will be meeting with students personally and reviewing their transcripts.

“My goal is for students to have at least three colleges that they want to transfer to,” said Shannon Gilley, counselor and Transfer Center director. “The whole idea with the mini-transfer and full-transfer days is to get the students to meet different schools.”

UOP has more than 80 majors to choose from and is located in Stockton. The representative that students will be speaking to is Jerred Thompson, the Admissions counselor at UOP.
