There’s an election?

About 25 City College faculty discussed the importance of the upcoming election on Sept. 23.

Dean Murakami, president of the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers, discussed at the staff meeting how important it is for the faculty and students to get involved.

“It is critical that students have a vote in deciding what the education turnout will be, two different candidates with two different views on the role of higher education,” Murakami said.

To get City College students interested in the crucial election, some instructors have offered extra credit to students who participate in a live debate. The student debate will follow the hour-long debate between the two gubernatorial candidates on Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Mondavi Center in Davis. The student debate will be take place in LR 105.
