Theatre hosts informational event; Child Center boosts growth in field

child-developThe Child Development Center will hold a career fair Oct. 7 at City College’s Art Court Theatre.

According to Lisa Garcia, supervisor for the CDC and preschool director, the center will  have informational tables to help students interested in the child development. Students will be shown how to apply to the  program.

“We want to be able share with everybody, including with former parents and students who have been in the program,” Garcia said. “History of what we’ve done, where we’re at and where we’re headed.”

Garcia said the center had planned to have people come and share stories of CDC’s beginnings, including former directors and teachers.

The event is to celebrate the program that has been around for over 30 years, and will include refreshments, a slideshow and photos from throughout the years.

The event will be held 10 a.m. to noon.
