Sexual battery on campus

Los Rios Police reported Feb. 3 in a campus wide email that a female student filed a report that she had been sexually battered and falsely imprisoned Feb. 2 while leaving Rodda Hall South.

According to the campus crime bulletin, the incident took place at 7:20 p.m. as the student left her class on the first floor of the Rodda South and was blocked by two males. The report described the assailants surrounding the female student and holding her against her will, with what was described as a “folded pocket knife.”

One male, described in the crime bulletin as a Hispanic male with a husky build, was wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and a red baseball cap with the letter “C” on it. The second male was described as black with a skinny build and a tattoo on his right arm, approximately 6’2″, wearing a white shirt and a silver chain with a joker pendant. Both were described as adults between the ages of 19 and 21. Campus police were unavailable for comment at the time of this publication. However, safety tips in the crime bulletin advised students to stay alert of their surroundings at all times and, when possible, travel with another person in well-lit areas.
